About Psychotherapy

Couples Counseling

Couples therapy is frequently time limited, targeted and focused on specific goals for the relationship. I use concepts derived from Gottman and from Hendrix, to provide sensitive but clear strategies for avoiding, de-escalating, and resolving conflict. Goals usually include increasing intimacy and connection with your partner to help you weather the tough times that all couples go through.

Group Counseling

Dr. Violette facilitates groups for women with alcohol and other substance issues. If you are interested, please call me at 732-991-7210. I will be starting a new group 8 week group in May.

Family Counseling

I can work with you on a range of family related issues, especially problems related to addiction.

Career and Life Coaching

Not everyone comes for long term, or ‘intensive’ therapy. Many of my clients have concerns related to life transitions, changes in career or lifestyle that they want to explore and think about with an objective outsider. I have a unique perspective on the ‘life course’ and the kind of issues we face throughout the different phases of our lives. Coming to talk, to gain empowerment and control over your decisions is a great way to get and stay focused, maximize your productivity and increase your energy for a well lived life!

About my Fees

At this time, I do not take insurance directly, for both reasons related to client confidentiality and because of ongoing changes in the health insurance industry. If you need to go ‘in network’ only, that is, if you must use a ‘participating provider’, then I recommend you call your insurance program directly to get names of providers within your network. If you have ‘indemnity insurance’ which means you can see any therapist you want, then I am able to provide you with a receipt which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Reimbursements differ by your insurance plan, but you can call them and tell them you want to see an ‘LCSW’ for psychotherapy/counseling. My license is reimbursable under any plan that allows you to seek ‘out of network’ counseling. Ask them what the limits of your plan are in terms of number of allowable sessions, and what percentage of the fee they will reimburse. My fees are somewhat variable depending on length of session, with initial sessions, couples and family sessions being a bit more than individual sessions. Group treatment is substantially less per session. Average individual fees are $160.00.
